A little about Glass Savers:

Glass Savers is a fully insured, family owned and operated business that specializes in glass restoration as our core service since 2010.

We use a process unique from any other service provider, along with propitiatory glass polishing solutions that we manufacture in house.  This allows for a finished result free from optical distortion, haziness, or any other obvious sign of repair.  Something no one else using the best DIY glass restoration kit bought online can claim.

While we are based in Austin, Tx we also provide routine service to San Diego and Orange County, Ca.

In addition, we are available for high profile or large scale projects nationwide.  Although there are other scratch removal companies out there, our clients continually find that there are very few if any that can provide the expertise and results Glass Savers does.  For this reason we get chosen over the local options on a regular basis.

We specialize in the types of jobs everyone else says “can’t be done.”

Frequently Asked Questions:

Yes, scratches from tempered glass can be removed.  Although harder than float glass, tempered glass is still susceptible to scratches.  Glass Savers is based in Southern California where tempered glass is required by code in most cases, so it’s almost exclusively what we resurface.

Whether you have a sliding glass door scratched by dogs  or severe, deep scratch graffiti on your storefront windows we can repair the damage back to “like new” conditions with no visible distortion.  Types of damage we can fix include but are not limited to:

  • Scratched glass
  • Acid etched glass
  • Sever hard water damage
  • post construction cleanup scratches
  • Fabricating Debris Scratches
  • Aquarium Glass
  • Yacht Glass

Of course! Although we have never had to make a claim, we are covered up to $2 million.  Please email to request a copy of our insurance certificates.

If it’s made of glass chances are it can be repaired.  Everything from standard commercial storefront windows to bullet proof glass.  Dual Pane, Annealed, Tempered, if its glass, and its scratched we can usually fix it.

Rates depend on a number of factors including what type of glass the damage is on, the size of the damage, the size of the glass, location of damage, etc. You can generally expect to save at least 50% over the cost of replacement.

For graffiti removal, average cost is $250-300/window. (There is a $500 minimum trip charge.)

Of course, we guarantee to bring your glass back to factory new standards or better.  We routinely resurface new glass before it’s installed, and it’s sold as new.  If we can’t restore your glass to new condition, we will let you know ahead of time.

Generally within 2-3 days for Southern California.  For out of town work please email or call.

Most small 1-3 window repair jobs can be completed in under 2 hours, some take much longer depending on the severity and size of damage.
Less sever damage like hard water stained glass resurfacing may only take 30-40 minutes per window.

For large scale projects please call or email with specifics for an estimated completion time.

We use a propitiatory system and manufacture our own resurfacing discs that are not for sale.  If you don’t mind a window cleaner who bought a DIY scratch removal kit online attempting to fix your windows for some extra cash those guys come and go and aren’t usually to hard to find.  Glass Savers is however is dedicated to resurfacing glass –  it’s all we do.  When the job needs to be done right, Glass Savers is your best bet hands down.

We use a modified, improved version of the GlassRenu System.

Yes we can remove scratches from auto glass and other types of curved glass.

Yes, Although Glass Savers is based in Southern California, and the majority of the work we do is in San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles, there is often a chance we can help no matter where you are.

Over the last few 3-4 years a higher and higher percentage of the glass resurfacing jobs we do are out of state.

If you have scratched glass and are seeking a glass restoration solution., don’t be discouraged when you’re having trouble finding an experienced technician near you.  Often times its more cost/time effective to fly us in from out of state than it is to replace or gamble on an inexperienced “glass restoration” company.  Even if we can’t help on your specific project, we may have solutions that are still helpful, so please give us a call or shoot an email.

No.  We started out using this system, but found that it was not able to deliver the results our most demanding customers required.  While it still is the best DIY option you can buy, it’s not something we would rely on to work on your glass.

In situations where the damage being removed was graffiti, and a little distortion or haze was preferable to whatever was etched into the glass it was a great option.  There were some situations, especially with non tempered glass that it worked very well for, however, being that most of our work is on high profile tempered glass, we needed something that could be relied on in EVERY situation.  A much wider tool kit than 3 grits of silicon carbide abrasives is required to deliver the results we do.

Glass Resurfacing is not an add on service for us, like it is for most other providers.  It’s all we do!

The best Piano in the world won’t make you a Beethoven or Chopin overnight.  Similarly, the best glass restoration tools are not needed by a novice.  It simply won’t make a difference, if you don’t know how, why or when to use them.  No doubt though, as your skills improve the requirement for better and more precise tools for each job becomes a necessity.

Not only do we make/produce/assemble all of our own tools, we stay well stocked.  We have on hand enough supplies to resurface many square miles of glass, so you’ll never ever hear us say “we are waiting on materials.”

As of right now, they are not for sale.
