Glass Restoration in San Diego (welding slag)
W hat we’re looking at here is welding splatter in glass… Melted metal from the welding process falling and hitting the glass, causing not only deep damage, but also leaving molten metal stuck in the surface of the glass. Not something that’s easy to remove.
There were about 8 windows with this type of damage, all of which had exposed pipes above them, that had clearly been welded recently.
None of the other glass WITHOUT exposed pipes above had damage on them. I’m not a detective but I’m pretty sure I know how this happened.
This was a new construction project and the damage in the glass was noticed just prior to completion.
Replacement would have been expensive, nor was there time to order and install new glass.
Luckily, Glass Savers was able to come in and restore the glass to like new condition, for a fraction of the cost of replacement. Not only that but in significantly less time, allowing the builder to complete this project on schedule.
As you can see, to get the damage out completely I to feather out quite a bit beyond the initial damage. This is to eliminate the possibility of distortion which plagues other glass restoration processes.
As you can see the polishing method the glass Savers uses also creates significantly less mess than what you’ve probably seen in the past.
Glass Savers specializes in servicing large and high-end projects that need to come out as close to perfect as humanly possible.
We’re available Nationwide for these types of projects, and also maintain a good relationship with many other glass restoration companies out there.
So if you’re outside of Southern California and it’s just one or two windows that you need fixed, give me a call anyway, there’s a good chance I can help set you up with a local company will be able to help you.
