Scratched glass in custom oversized doors/windows
Scratched Glass Polishing in Rancho Santa Fe, CA – $100K+ Saved Without Replacement
Glass Savers recently completed a scratched glass polishing project in Rancho Santa Fe, California, restoring dozens of oversized, high-value tempered glass windows and doors. Instead of replacing the panels—an option that would have cost over $100,000 and required major reconstruction—we resurfaced the glass to like-new clarity, preserving the immaculate finish of this stunning custom home.
An Immaculate Custom Home, With One Major Problem
What an absolutely stunning custom home in Rancho Santa Fe. One major problem however—a number of small, light scratches on these massively oversized windows and doors.
With every single detail of this immaculate newly constructed home being finished to perfection, scratches on this astronomically expensive tempered glass stood out like a sore thumb and were devastating for the owner of the new home as well as the builder. There were about 20 windows with small areas of scratches, similar to the ones shown here.
Why Replacement Wasn’t an Option
As Murphy’s law would have it, virtually all of them were right at eye level on the panels with the most stunning views, on the most expensive-to-replace windows. In addition to the prohibitive cost, installation of the new glass would initiate a cascade of additional demolitions and reconstruction of the walls and flooring where the fixed portions of the sliders were integrated.
Resurfacing was the only option, and having the work completed as if nothing had happened was essential.
The Challenge: Perfection Required
Repairs like this need to be perfect on the first attempt; there’s no going back after an attempt is botched. No sign of repair would be tolerated.
There are only a few scratch removal companies in the world capable of delivering the results required here. For this reason, Glass Savers was chosen for the removal of these scratches.
Trust from the Builder
A massive amount of trust was extended by the builder when having these windows restored. The reason being not only the perfection required but also because only a few of the scratched windows/doors had been identified by the homeowner. It was only a matter of time before the rest would be discovered, and getting those fixed before the homeowner experienced further stress and lack of sleep was crucial.
Results: $100K+ Saved and Zero Signs of Damage
Another successful glass polishing project — all of the panels were restored with zero sign that anything had ever been wrong with them in the first place. This meticulous restoration not only saved the day but also well over $100,000 on this project.
